NDT Bound!!!!!!!

On Monday March 12th, we found out that KSU is invited to the National Debate Tournament. The team of Kyle Zarazan, senior, and Beth Mendenhall, sophomore, will represent the University on account of their strong performance throughout the year. Winning more than half of their debates against teams going to the National Debate Tournament helped ensure that the team was chosen as an at-large invitee to the tournament. For Kyle, this is the second year in a row that he has attended and the first in what is hopefully many for Beth. This team is a testiment of what can happen two debaters who work hard with a squad of great support behind them. Good luck at Fullerton!!!!

The teams of Chelsea Good and Ryan Bennett (Novice) and John Grice and Derek Ziegler (JV) lost a debate in the octo-finals. The team of Beth Mendenhall and Jordan Hanson took the 2nd place overall trophy home in the JV division!!!! This was the best finish at the tournament in 7 years.

Of the top 40 speakers at the tournament - KSU had 6: John Grice 16th Speaker JV, Heather Woods 15th Speaker JV, Derek Ziegler 13th Speaker JV, Chelsea Good 13th Speaker Novice, Jordan Hanson 12th Speaker JV, Beth Mendenhall 9th Speaker JV.

Special recognition should go to Megan Harlow and Nick Lansman-Roos who grinded the midnight oil to ensure that our teams were ready to go on Monday morning.
